That's how many pounds of e-waste we've collected so far. It all adds up to 80.5 tons of electronic junk that won't be burned or buried in some third-world landfill.
Our program kicked off three years ago this spring.
And a note: Our next e-waste drive is June 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sam's Club in Jackson. Look for more info coming soon.

I hope to see some additional publicity about the upcoming electronics recycling drive, since most people don't know about resources to recycle their electronics.
I also wanted to point out that Dell has partnered with Goodwill Industries, so that you can recycle your old computers and electronics at any Goodwill. See: http://www.reconnectpartnership.com/michigan/index.html
Great info about Goodwill! I am definitely interested in hearing more about the drop though. Will alkaline batteries be accepted?
FYI, the recycling center at Northwest Refuse on Lansing Ave. accepts batteries. They also take that evil Styrofoam!
Yes, we do take all batteries. The more the merrier! And we've talked with Goodwill about partnering up, but in the meantime we send people their way. We're just not sure where their e-waste ends up. That's a big issue with us.
Spread the word about the e-waste drive!
